Within the framework of Tempus ASPIRE project, an additional training on “Access to Society for People with Individual Requirements” was held at Armenian State Pedagogical University (ASPU) after Kh. Abovyan on 15-17 July, 2015. About 20 representatives of Yerevan State University and ASPU, as well as members of rehabilitation centers and NGOs were trained during the three-day event.
Ara Yeremyan, ASPU Vice-Rector of Personnel and International Cooperation, handed over certificates to the participants. He expressed hope that they understand the importance of the training and would advice their colleagues to follow suit. “Training seems to be a humanitarian act. To ensure free access of people with special needs to society we should make the work with them part of our daily routine, trying to develop their skills and abilities,” he stressed.
Heghine Khachatryan, Coordinator of the “Access to Society for People with Individual Requirements” Project, added in turn that the desired result will produce desirable outcome: the participants will apply the ideas, concepts and knowledge obtained during the project in thier activities and share them with their colleagues.
The Tempus ASPIRE program was launched in 2012. It aims at creating a favorable environment for the education of young people with special needs. It also aims to foster the rights of individuals with special needs to access education and enjoy the right of participation in everyday society.
