ASPU students visit St. Petersburg

St. Petersburg State University of Economics (UNECON) has launched summer school courses for 2015 within the framework of cooperation between Armenian State Pedagogical University (ASPU) and the Russian University.
 
 
Within the framework of the programme, ten students of the ASPU will spend nine days in Russia’s ‘cultural’ capital with their peers from the UNECON, get acquainted with the history and cultural heritage of St. Petersburg.
 

 
On the first day of the visit, a cognitive tour around the city was organized for the Armenian guests: the students visited the Peter and Paul Cathedral and Armenian Church of St. Catherine. 
 
 
Armenian students were later received by Irina Egorova, Vice-Rector for Academic and Methodical Affairs, who briefed the guests on the activities of the Russian University and its prospects, as well as the main objectives of the Summer School programme. “Numerous students from different countries of the world visit St. Petersburg every year thanks to the Summer School programme. I am glad to see you in our University and I hope that we shall continue our cooperation,” she said.  
 

Ruzanna Hakhumyan, a lecturer at the Department of Russian Language at the ASPU, thanked her Russian colleagues for the warm welcome while ASPU students presented their Russian peers the history and activities of their Alma Mater and gave the Russian side symbolic gifts on behalf of the ASPU.
 
 
During their stay in St. Petersburg, ASPU students will also participate in courses and receive Certificates of Participation.
