KHACHATUR ABOVYAN ARMENIAN STATE PEDAGOGICAL UNIVERSITY

On 15 August, the “Summer School 2015” programme was launched in Armenia, jointly organized by the Armenian State Pedagogical University after Khachatur Abovyan, the Armenian Youth Foundation and the ASPU Student Council.

Today, the educational base of the Pedagogical University in “Aghavnadzor” is multilingual and crowded; its already the third year,more than 80 students from Armenia, NagornoKarabakh, Belarus, Finland, Lithuania and Russia participate in the programme.

The Vice-Rector of the Pedagogical University, Mr. Ara Yeremyan welcomed the participants of the programme assuring that the programme will give an opportunity not only to get familiar with Armenia, but also to strengthen cultural, friendly relations with various nations and to obtain new friends.

The Head of the ASPU International Cooperation Christina Tsaturyan mentions during her conversation with the old.aspu.am that this year the geographic scope has been expanded.

“The programme aims at presenting the culture of Armenia, its educational system as well as insuring the intercultural communication. Our students have the opportunity of communicating with foreigners outside the University and obtaining important communication skills within their environment.”

From the very first day a student from the Lithuanian University,Ignas Zhilenkostarted loving Armenia.

“All this is very interesting for me, I have never been in such a country so far. I guess I will soon become fully familiarized with Armenia and obtain new friends”, Ignas said.

During the ten days the student will pay visits to a number of historical and cultural sites, participate in a number of courses and spend a pleasurable pass-time.
