“Most of All I Liked the People of Armenia”; the Impressions of Finn Student

The programme “Summer School 2015” continues at the educational base of Aghavnadzor of the Pedagogical University: The ASPU and the Armenian Youth Foundation together with the University’s Student Council joined representatives of different nations over a common initiative.

 

The participants of the programme have already visited the historical and cultural sites of Armenia including churches, museums, and Lake Sevan. The foreigners are particularly impressed with the visit to the Matenadaran and with the promenade around the capital city Yerevan.

 

Likewise, the students paid a visit to the Pedagogical University, went to see the University’s Museum and were introduced with the history and chronology of the University.

 

“The students are excited, they participate in classes with great pleasure, attend sports and intellectual games, and are delighted to try Armenia food”, mentioned the President of the ASPU Student Council Nersik Margaryan and added that the programme filled the students with positive emotions and contributed tostarting the new academic year with great desire to learn.

 

In addition to getting acquainted with the history and culture of Armenia, the foreign students have also learned to speak, sing in Armenian and to dance Armenian dances.

 

In her turn, the student of the University of Oulu of Finland Essy Kolonnei shared her amazement; in her opinion the programme “Summer School” is fascinating and diverse- entertaining and educative.

 

“Most of all I like the people of Armenia, then the nature, and the music”, mentioned the Finn student and highlighted the particular kindness she observed among Armenians remembering that once when she had felt unwell, everybody had rushed for help.

 

We would like to mention that each and every day the programme is enriched with various events and undertakings, which are summarized with dances and songs until late in the night. 

 

To conclude, during the upcoming days, the participants of the programme “Summer School 2015” are going to pay visits to the Etchmiadzin, Saghmosavank and a number of other sites.
