Peace is Acquired by Weapon, Soldiers and Generals
11.05.2012

The Artsakh War participant, Lieutenant-General Mouraz Sargsyan is from Kapan by his origin. The infinite patriotism and the country’s fatal state made him resign his service at

the Russian army, return to his motherland and participate in the Artsakh War, and afterwards, in the formation of the national army.

Today, a group of students of the Faculty of History and Law had a brilliant opportunity to get familiar with Mouraz Sargsyan’s military experience and skills as commented by the General himself.

The event on the 20th anniversary of the Shushi liberation was organized by the Faculty of History and Law in joint cooperation with the Armbureau. Mouraz Sargsyan told those present about the Lachin corridor, his motherland Kapan, as well as about the defensive battles, fighting actions, and the secretes of their successful accomplishment  in the regions of Goris, Meghri and Sisian.

The reminiscences of military actions, the images of the dastard enemy and the courageous Armenians are still fresh and alive in the mind of the Artsakh war participant.
“If a Turk is running away, you can never catch him,” the merited General says grinning and then calls for the future historian soldiers to always be ready and not to be afraid of war.

As a matter of fact, today, the Armenian army military units are still conducted by the codes, programmes, and methodological guidelines of Mouraz Sargsyan who has been awarded countless orders and medals.

Afterwards, another participant of the Artsakh war, Director-General of the Ghapan Theatre, honored artist Kamo Arzoumanyan, unlike his military friend, represented the episodes and stories of the military operations with humour and in a small performance.

“It is a joyous fact, that we have started discussing about the defense of our motherland, about our soldiers and our young people. While speaking the heroic deeds of Armenian soldiers we shouldn’t forget their talent too. The Shushi military operation is a unique case in the world military art,” the Head of the Department of History of Political Sciences and Law, Levon Shirinyan said. “There are two more sites in the Transcaucasia- the Shushi impregnable fortress, which was liberated by an Armenian soldier, and the Kars tower, which must be returned too. Peace is acquired by weapon, soldiers and generals,” the Historian concluded.

For the considerable contribution in the patriotic education of students, Lieutenant- General Mouraz Sargsyan presented the RA Ministry of Defense diploma and the book of his recollections named “Selfless Service” to the Vice Chancellor of Distant and Additional Learning, Candidate of Physical-Mathematical Sciences, Associate Professor Tigran Ayvazyan, to the Dean of the Faculty of History and Law, Candidate of Historical Sciences, Associate Professor Edick Gevorgyan, to the Professor of the Department of Law Vanik Mkhitaryan, to the Director of the Humanitarian Literature hall Tigran Petrosyants, and to the President of the Students Council of the same Faculty Tigran Khachatryan.

Upon the end of the conference, one of the students of the Faculty of History and Law, inspired by patriotic stories, presented the performance of the song “Piti gnanq/we must go/” by Minstrel Haykazouni and assured that the new generation “with fire or sword, we must go-sooner or later”.
