The official 2011 President's Prize awards ceremony took place at the residence of the Armenian President, during which President Serzh Sargsyan handed out prizes to representatives of different fields.
Serzh Sargsyan congratulated the winners for their achievements and prizes, thanked them for their important work and wished them success in their future initiatives.
The country’s leader awarded prizes in the fields of Natural Sciences, Engineering, Information Sciences, Art, Humanities, Literature and Classical Music.
Gagik Kryuchkyan, a corresponding member of the National Academy of Sciences and professor at Armenian State pedagogical University (ASPU) received a prize for his significant contribution to the development of physics.
Astghik Stepanyan, a professor at the ASPU Faculty of Fine Arts, received a prize in the field of art for decoration and costume design in Sergei Prokofiev’s “Romeo and Juliet" ballet.
