Today, we are celebrating the International Children Protection Day. It is on this very day that we call for everybody to be more attentive towards the children’s problems and to
protect them.
Guided by this idea, the ASPU Department of Logopedics Rehabilitation Therapy within the Faculty of Special Education, the Student Council and the University Labour Union organized an event headed “Peace to the World Children”.
Exciting competitions, singing, dancing, chalk-drawing - all this made only a part of the holiday concert that the children enjoyed in the Pedagogical University yard.
Moreover, children songs “Tezuk/dwarf”, “Tsnndyan ton/Birthday song/”, “Par/Dance”, “Yerku quyrik/ Two Sisters” were presented by the State Song Theatre children.
The event organizers are assured that on this special holiday equal rights must be given to children with special educational need. As a matter of fact, on this occasion pupils of the “Huysi Kamurj/ Bridge of Hope” and N100 Inclusive School were also invited to the concert.
1 June is one of the favourite holidays for the 10-year-old Liparit Tamazyan. He received a lot of congratulation on this international holiday; while the presents are still coming. The most impressive part of the event for Liparit was his own handmade chalk-drawing.
In the process of drawing the Republic of Armenia flag, the colour shades were quite realistic for Liparit. In his opinion, red, blue and orange colours are the symbolic shades for peace, kindness and careless childhood which are so much missing from our today’s life.
Let us remind that the International Children Protection Day is one of the oldest international holidays. It was set during the world conference assembled for the children protection issues in Genève in 1925. While in Armenia, 1 June has been celebrated from the Soviet times on.
