Graduates of eleven faculties of Armenian State Pedagogical University (ASPU) today received graduate diplomas.
Out of the 78 BA and 19 MA students of the Faculty of Mathematics and Informatics, 24 received Diplomas with Honours.
Before handing over diplomas, Dean of the Faculty, Doctor of Physical and Mathematical Sciences, Professor Levon Arabajyan reminded students that science is a difficult, responsible, and absorbing sphere.
Congratulating the graduates, the Dean of the Faculty and the heads of chairs urged them to apply the knowledge obtained at the university in the future and take the profession of a pedagogue and that of a scholar with the greatest responsibility.
Head of the Chair of Higher Algebra and Geometry, Professor Samvel Harutyunyan cited the idea of Henri Poincaré, one of the greatest mathematicians of the 19th century, who said, “To enter a classroom means to solve 30 nonlinear equations. Only Satan knows how many unknowns you have. Can you do the sum without preliminary knowledge? You should be able to do all sums in less than 45 minutes, at the same time using the sustainable knowledge you have gained here in order to correct the situation and the problems faced by the present-day school.”
In his turn, Head of the Chair of Economics and its Teaching Methods, Professor Maxim Sargsyan added, “You may have numerous flights in your lives but this one is of great importance as you are stepping into a new life; this is a flight from education to life. The Pedagogical University is always waiting for you.”
About 140 BA and MA graduates of the Faculty of Physics and Technologies also received graduate diplomas, with 21 of them being granted Diplomas with Honours.
The solemn ceremony was attended by Head of Division of Coordination of Academic and Scientific Methodological Activities, Vice-Rector Mher Melik-Bakhshyan, the lecturer-professorial team of the Faculty, students and their relatives.
Mher Melik-Bakhshyan congratulated the graduates, wishing them success in their future initiatives and advised them never to forget their professional background.
