Armenia Marks Day of State Symbols
15.06.2012

It is already a few years, the Humanitarian Literature Library of Armenian State Pedagogical University (ASPU) has been displaying Armenian symbols and performing national

anthem in connection with the Day of the State Symbols.

Director of the Library Tigran Petrosyants says the country is recognized for its key factors, including symbols. “We have been deprived of our statehood for many years, and it has left its trace on the consciousness of our people. The initiative aims to convey to our young generation the idea of valuing the merits of our country, form national consciousness and respect for the state symbols and raise the patriotic spirit of our young generation,” he said.

The director of the Library says he is delighted to know that many of the library visitors know that June 15 is a symbolic day in Armenia.

On June 15, 2006, the Armenian parliament passed the laws on the State Flag and on the State Coat of Arms. June 15 has been celebrated as the Day of State Symbols ever since.
Armenian state symbols are the tricolor flag, anthem and coat of arms.

A march, featuring representatives of student unions and public organizations, including ASPU students, will be held in Yerevan in connection with the holiday.
