The “We Claim Increased Funding for Science” Facebook initiated Awards for scientific journalism and the most referred scientists in international scientific journals took place. Ninety-five young scientists and eleven journalists received certificates and awards from the “Tashir” charitable foundation.
Among the award-winners is the professor of the Department of Chemistry and its Teaching Methods, Candidate of Chemical Sciences, Meri Manukyan. The latter was announced the winner in the competition of the most referred scientists in international scientific journals.
“Such events are a great stimulus for the development of science and increased public awareness of young scientists. Our country has a great scientific potential, and I hope that in future more importance and attention will be focused on science and scientists,” Meri Manukyan said.
Let us mention that it is already a year that the Facebook initiative “We Claim Increased Funding for Science” has been founded. The main aim of the project is to contribute to and to solve the problem of financing science in Armenia.
