This year there were 18 teams in the competition; 9 of them were from Yerevan, 2 teams from Gyumry and Vanadzor correspondingly, and per team from Ararat, Gavar, Goris, Vagharshapat and Noyemberyan.
During the competition organized on the principles of interactive games, 9-12 grade pupils solved 14 chemistry sums and problems each, including those in form of video materials.
This year the President of the Jury was the Head of the Department of Analytical Chemistry of the Yerevan State University, Doctor of Chemical Sciences, Professor Hambardzum Khachatryan. Additionally, the jury consisted of the YSU and YSAU professors, young scientific workers, lecturers and other specialists.
Upon the end of the competition, the jury summarized the results and the following teams passed to the semi-final: “Aqva” from Ararat, “Bnaget”, “Gitunik” and School N119 team from Yerevan, “Evrika” and “Mendeleevi Hetnordner” from Vanadzor, as well as “Radikal” from Noyemberyan, “Vita” from Gavar, and “Foton” from Gyumry.
The above-mentioned teams will meet at the semi-final which is intended to take place in the second half of October.
The organizers of the competition granted participation certificates and souvenirs to the contestants.
Last but not least, we would like to remind that since 2010 the “Ayb” educational foundation, aiming to involve Armenian pupils into well-known international school-competitions, has been arranging the “All-Armenian Young Chemists Tournament” competition.
The idea of this undertaking and the competition technology are all borrowed from the “All-Ukrainian Young Chemists Tournament” that has registered many years’ success.
