Pedagogical Internship at Summer Camps
14.07.2012
Arranging pedagogical internships at summer camps has become an obligatory step for the ASPU to prepare well-qualified and professional pedagogues.

This concept is of major importance for the formation of professional skills especially for future teachers of elementary classes.

Today, this practice is considered as a meaningful component of the teaching-educational process of the University, as well as it serves as a basis for theoretical knowledge and for the vocational pedagogical training of the future teachers.

On this occasion, the sophomores of the Faculty of Primary Education with specialization in pedagogy and methodology /elementary education/, as intended by the academic plan, spent their summer internship in a number of camps in Tsaghkadzor and Hanqavan.

The chief task of the pedagogical internship was to introduce the students with the educational content, methods, and types, as well as, to arise the sense of responsibility in future pedagogues towards the concepts of child life, health and safety issues, also to form pedagogical skills in the field of education.

What is more, recently, the Dean of the Faculty of Primary Education Heghinei Khachaturyan, together with the Vice Dean of Science and Postgraduate Education Lucinei Poghosyan, the Head of Department of Mathematics and Elementary Education Methods H. Haroutunyan, and the Head of the Department of Armenian Language and Elementary Education Methods A. Galstyan have made a tour to the above mentioned camps, where they got acquainted with the students’ work and daily lifestyles, and talked to the Heads of the camps.

“The students’ work at summer camps is a specific type of practical activity that requires of them knowledge and responsibility. The students not only organize children’s active leisure and development, but also bear responsibility for the children’s life, health and safety,” the Vice Dean of Science and Postgraduate Education Lucinei Poghosyan said.

It should also be mentioned that the pedagogical internships at summer camps bear continuous nature.
