This year the Pedagogical University started the new academic year on 3 September. Not staying behind the whirl typical to the day, each of 10 faculties chose their own ways to
make the students day joyful and memorable.
Demonstration of a film telling about the Faculty, congratulations and best wishes- this is how the Faculty of Biology, Chemistry and Geography welcomed its freshmen.
“This is the educational establishment where a large number of teachers got educated throughout years, teachers, who held high the honour of the Pedagogical University bearing the name of the great enlightener Khachatur Abovyan. The University has all the conditions to arrange a saturated and informative educational process. I wish you to fully use these years and have a four-year successful educational process,” the Dean of the Faculty of Biology, Chemistry and Geography, Candidate of Chemical Sciences, Associate Professor Svetlana Hovakimyan mentioned in her welcome speech.
The Faculty of Special Education started the event on the Day of Knowledge with the RA and Pedagogical University anthems. New and changed educational plans, a profound knowledge of a foreign language during the eight semesters, physical education classes in the pool- and this is only a part of all innovations expected the educational programme for the coming academic year.
The Dean of the Faculty, Candidate of Pedagogical Sciences, Associate Professor Armenouhi Avagyan turned to the present year students of the 90-year-old University and promised them that the Faculty will do it best to equip the students who chose this up-to-date and prospective profession with necessary knowledge.

The new academic year for the students of the Faculty of Primary Education also started with two anthems. After which the Dean of the Faculty and the teaching-professorial team made congratulation speeches to the students.
The Dean of the Faculty of Primary Education, Candidate of Pedagogical Sciences, Associate Professor Heghine Khachatryan emphasized in the beginning of her speech that the profession of a pedagogue requires dedication, humanism, honesty and manifestation of personal example of courtesy.
By congratulating on being a student of the Pedagogical University, the Dean expressed hope that the students will use
the four years of studies to become good citizens of the country and the World; that’s what the profession of a pedagogue requires.
Difficult mathematical estimations and formulas, fundamental laws of the Space and Nature- this is what the Pedagogical students study in the Faculty of Mathematics, Physics and Informatics. The lecturers of the newly established Faculty inform from the very beginning that students-oriented education will be dominant in their Faculty, and that 4 informative and tense academic years are in front.
The Head of Chair of Mathematical Analysis and Theory of Functions, Candidate of Physical-Mathematical Sciences, Associate Professor Varazdat Vardazaryan is glad for the unprecedented flow of students this year.
Moreover, the Candidate of Physical –Mathematical Sciences is assured that the accepted stereotype that few people choose mathematical-natural sciences stream, is no longer actual. And this, once again states that exact sciences are the basis of everything.
