This academic year the Faculty of Education Psychology and Sociology welcomed 217 freshmen on five specializations.
The latters were greeted by the Dean of the Faculty, Doctor of Psychological Sciences, Professor Srbouhi Gevorgyan and the teaching-professorial team.
While congratulating on admission to the University, Srbouhi Gevorgyan said, “By becoming students you made a step forward to your dreams’ realization. With the student’s rank the aims and plans for your life will obtain certainty, the path, which will guide you in future will be outlined. In our days it is only with knowledge that we can withstand the challenges of the modern world”.
In addition, the Dean also mentioned that the Faculty of Education Psychology and Sociology demonstrates an individual approach towards the students’ problems, preferences, and encourages the bests.
“The knowledge obtained during the four years of studies will help you to communicate correctly and to easily adapt to society, also to realize abilities, and to actively integrate into social relations. Graduates of the Faculty of Education Psychology and Sociology step into life well- armed with the most powerful weapon- the “psychological weapon”, Srbouhi Gevorgyan added.
“Being admitted to the Faculty of Education Psychology and Sociology, makes a serious contribution for the future of your life; thus, you have proved to your parents, friends, teachers that you are really smart, purposeful and talented. You also have in your hands the chance to prove that your success will not be accidental, to display with you studies that you really deserve to be the student of our University’s Faculty of Education Psychology and Sociology.
Every person comes across tense, uncertain, emotionally rich, crisis situations, which lead to negative state of mind, and causes stress. Who is the one that demonstrates professional support in such cases? The psychologist, definitely! And for this very reason your chosen profession has always been in high demand, is and it will rise in future.
In fact, it is a great pleasure to see the annually rising number of our applicants. The acquired knowledge helps our graduates to correctly communicate,” Srbouhi Gevrogyan said while introducing the freshmen with their profession.
Furthermore, this year the Faculty of History and Law will have 99 freshmen.
The Dean of the Faculty, Associate Professor Edick Gevorgyan addressed them with the following, “I am proud to mention that you have been admitted to the best faculty of one of the best universities of the country. Here you have all the conditions to receive comprehensive knowledge. And that will be a bilateral process, both friendship and strictness must be present in student-lecturer relationship, still, the most important is students’ commitments to their responsibilities. We are all optimists, and our students have never let us down, and we are more than sure that we are going to have an effective cooperation”.
Moreover, the historian promised the students to walk by the crossroads of history, get equipped with comprehensive knowledge which, in a short while, will serve for the Republic of Armenia, for the young generation, for education.
Afterwards, the Dean and the Heads of Chairs met future legist-pedagogues and urged them to properly perform their duties to be able to access their rights with dignity.
And last but not least, the Faculty of Foreign Languages too had no deficiency in students this year; around 125 students at the Pedagogical will master foreign language teaching peculiarities.
On the very first day the students got familiar with their rights and responsibilities, and then started the first lesson in separate groups.
