Sara Vanyan Shares Her First Impressions of London
07.09.2012
It has become a good tradition at Armenian State Pedagogical University (ASPU) to encourage students who continually demonstrate excellent academic performance and are actively engaged in the University life.

Sara Vanyan, a student of the Faculty of Education Psychology and Sociology, was named the best student of the University in 2011.  The University administration gave her an opportunity to travel to London and participate in a two-week educational program.

“An hour later after the landing I went to Regent’s College where I participated in a two-week English-language course. Regent's College campus is located in Regent's Park, which is considered to be the most beautiful royal park situated in the heart of London. Over 3000 students from 80 countries study at the College. The quiet and safe atmosphere contributes to the learning process and helps arrange one’s leisure usefully and beautifully,” says Sara.

She was greatly impressed by the work style and methods of English specialists.

Within the framework of the course, Sara emphasized the existence of parentless children, its actuality, statistics and ‘painful’ sides: the topic touched and excited her audience.

“On the sidelines of the visit, I had a chance to visit several historic sites in Great Britain, including Oxford and ancient churches. The powerful force and beauty of London’s wonderful landmarks was transmitted to each visitor. The look of old-fashioned streets, so frequently mentioned in the literature, conveyed the breath of London to human’s thoughts. Every part of the city seemed to have been specially designed to give aesthetic pleasure to everyone,” tells Sara.

At the end of the course, the best student of the ASPU was given a certificate of completion for attending the two-week course in London.
