The Minister of Culture considered it quite symbolic that the organizer of the exhibition is the Pedagogical University itself.
“The University has an immense contribution in the sphere of culture as among the talented artists it has not left unnoticed such classical artist as Zakhar Khachatryan.”
Likewise, among the artist’s works Hasmik Poghosyan especially outlined “My Mother’s Portrait”.
“It’s a bit difficult for me to say what is dominant in an artist – genes, education, or being called a Master by the

contemporaries,” the Minister of Culture added.
“Still, in the Italian Renaissance fine arts it was widely accepted to call a Master the artists who painted only portraits; and it was only by this, that the extent of their professionalism was considered. In this regard, today Zakhar Khachatryan can be considered the “Master of Masters”. He simply reaches perfection in sphere of portrait by wisely using his flawless knowledge with the new stylistic qualities satisfying the demand of the time, acquires the perfect expression of posers’ nature, internal psychological moments, and human intimate emotions. From the point of view of artistic impression these portraits can satisfy art lovers of all times,” Doctor of Study of Art, Professor Hravard Hakobyan mentioned in her speech.
In addition, the Director of the Armenian National Gallery Paravon Mirzoyan presented the talented artist as someone from whom he learned about the correlation of the blue sky, the earth and the water; “a person who preserved, stayed faithful to and developed the classical traditions of Armenian realistic art,” Paravon Mirzoyan said.
And last but not least, the President of the Artists Union in Armenia Karen Aghamyan also complimented the Pedagogical University’s undertaking, expressing his assurance that Zakhar Khachatryan’s lecturing at the Pedagogical will bring the University to ta new higher level.
The exhibition will be open until the end of September.
