On 25 and 26 September,French –Armenian Chemist, Doctor of Chemical Sciences Souren Cherric delivered lectures on “Polymers Chemistry” at the Pedagogical University.

Under the latter’s own initiative and by the invitation of the RA ES Minister Armen Ashotyan, Mr. Cherric gives lectures in Armenian in  a number of universities.

On this occasion, the students of the ASPU Faculty of Biology, Chemistry and Geography, the lecturers and guests from the RA NAS STCOPC (Scientific and Technological Center of Organic and Pharmaceutical Chemistry) attended the lectures.

The Dean of the Faculty of Biology, Chemistry and Geography, Candidate of Chemical Sciences, Associate Professor Svetlana Hovakimyan opened the lecture with her greeting speech.
She thanked Souren Cherric for the visit to the University and for delivering the lectures and added, “Your visit is of great significance not only due to the fact that you are a good scientist but also that you are a disinterested patriot. The two-day lectures given by Mr.Cherric refer to the caoutchouc production and its technologies.
Thus, he started his lecture with the caoutchouc classification, thoroughly discussed the structure of the natural caoutchouc, its segregation methods from Hevea tree and processing methods.

Further on, the next part of the lecture was dedicated to synthetic monomers and polymers which are produced from them.

While speaking about the production terms of elastic polymers from plastic polymers and their importance, Souren Cherric also explained the caoutchouc vulcanization methods and technological processes.
