The visit of the Finn Professor to the Pedagogical University continues. During the business trip the Finnic delegation had meetings with groups in charge of BA and MA curricula

drafting, students’ internship support, students’ services management, transparency and accountability, training and quality assurance.
Each of the groups discussed the problems and working process relevant to their sphere.
First of all, the group in charge of curricula discussed with the Finnic partners the Europeanization of BA and MA descriptors of educational programmes, MA course templates and its required filling peculiarities.
Then, the group in charge of management, transparency and accountability tried to perceive the pledge of transparent work in fields of education, research, finance.
Later on, the Finnic delegation also got familiar with the University’s updated strategic plan for 2011-2012 which summarized the chief development aims and objectives of the University, its problems, modern challenges, main strategic fields, anticipated results, progress assessment indicators.

“The strategic plan provides with the University’s mission, perspectives, as well as its achievements in the previous years, educational reforms, ways of improving the embedded credit system, the anticipated outcomes as a result of the strategic plan implementation in spheres of education and science,” the Head of the ASPU Strategic Management Department Rita Gevorgyan mentioned in her speech.
In addition, all those present were also introduced with the strategic aims implementation plan- the schedule, the logical matrix of activities, and the major work which are aimed at the faculty development strategy.
“The University’s strategic plan corresponds to the international standards with its structure and content, and as a result of successful realization of the guidelines mentioned, all chances will be created for the international accreditation process,” the Finnic experts mentioned.
Besides, during the business meetings the Pedagogical University quality assurance was also discussed.
The Head of the International Cooperation Department Christine Tsaturyan presented through mapping the standards and guidelines of the Pedagogical University quality assurance in the European higher education area.
As a result, the quality assurance policy and concept received the approval of the European experts.

“Today, the World is led by the all-European standards in the sphere of education. In its turn, our University has a working group which is in charge of education quality development and assurance policy. By introducing our tasks, the current reforms realized in the University became much more comprehensible and practical for the Finns,” Christine Tsaturyan mentioned.
Further on, the representative of the Finnic delegation Eva-Maria Raudasoja presented the statute and the regulatory documents of the University of Oulu which guide the institution both from strategic and quality perspectives.
And last but not least, during the visit to Armenia the Finnic representatives visited the historical sites of our country together with their partners from the Pedagogical and got acquainted with Armenian flavour.
