Let’s Be Responsible for Those We Have Domesticated
05.10.2012
An exhibition opened in the Faculty of Primary Education of the Pedagogical University in connection with the World Animal Day.

The exhibition was organized by “We are All Responsible for Those We Have Domesticated” NGO headed by Karine Panosyan.

She presented the approaches of different countries in the protection of animals, noting that there are already many non-governmental organizations in Armenia that collect and take care of stray animals and try to find ‘homes’ for them, by giving them to families.

Karine Panosyan especially emphasized the cooperation with the Faculty of Primary Education, underlining that the Faculty somehow shapes the attitude of future generations towards the wildlife and animals.

Heghine Khachatryan, Dean of the Faculty of Primary Education, Candidate of Pedagogical Sciences and Associate Professor, also highlighted the conceit of the day, saying that everyone should be concerned about the protection of animals.

“Photos and addresses make the importance of animal protection more picturesque which is difficult to convey through knowledge. Protection of wildlife and animals should become attitude for us so that we can later transfer it to our students,” she said.

After watching the photos and reading the addresses, many of the students confessed that the exhibition helped them change their decision to leave their pets without care.

World Animal Day is celebrated each year on October the 4th. It started in Florence, Italy, in 1931 at a convention of ecologists.

The exhibition will run for ten days.
