Since 2004, October 7 has been officially celebrated in Armenia as the Day of Librarian. Events marking the holiday are increasing in the country annually.

On October 6, Yerevan Musicological Library hosted the presentation of the book “Robert Petrosyan: Life and Creative Work.”
The event was attended by the co-authors of the book - Gohar Meliksetyan, Candidate of Pedagogical Sciences, Associate Professor at the Chair of Theory of Music, its Teaching Methodology and Musical Instruments, Satenik Tamrazyan and Liana Malakyan, Composer Areg Lusinyan, Honored Worker of Arts of the Republic of Armenia, the wife and daughters of Composer Robert Petrosyan. His daughters work at the Pedagogical University, too.

Composer Areg Lusinyan told the presentees about his long-term friendship with Robert Petrosyan while Gohar Meliksetyan spoke about the idea to write the book, as well as the collaboration with the composer.
As a result of that cooperation, the authors were able to organize the publication of the book under the aegis of His Holiness Karekin II, the Supreme Patriarch and Catholicos of All Armenians, on the eve of the composer's 80th birth anniversary.
Armine Matevosyan and Alvina Tigranyan (vocal), students of the Department of Music Education at the Faculty of Fine Arts, Manana Khanaryan (flute), a student of the Culture Faculty, performed with piano accompaniment by Suzy Petrosyan, one of the daughters of the composer.
The latter expressed her gratitude to the library staff, emphasizing the role and importance of its uniquely rich fund and staff in the city's cultural life.
