The III International Conference for the Armenian Chemistry Society

On 3- 6 October, the III International Conference headed “Achievements in Organic and Medicinal Chemistry” took place in Yerevan with the participation off the Armenian Chemistry Society.
 
The conference was marked with the participation of scientists from than forty research centers in Armenia, the USA, Russia, Belarus, Georgia, and Switzerland.
 
Besides, a group of lecturers and postgraduate students from the Faculty of Chemistry and its Teaching Methods of the Pedagogical University were included into the activities of the Committee, Programme committee and adjacent groups.
 
To begin with, the first part of the conference was devoted to the RA NAS Academician Sargis Vardanyan’s 95 anniversary. The initial part started with the presentation of the film devoted to the prominent scientist’s life and work; the film was authored by the graduate of our University, STCOPC scientific worker Michael Movsisyan.
 
On this occasion, interesting works were presented telling about the synthesis and study of the biologically active
 

 components.
 
Later on, an oral report on the results of synthesis of new compounds with antimicrobial activity and the study of their features was made by the lecture of the Department of Meri Manoukyan, and Ashot Babakhanyan, Svetlana Hovakimyan and Vardouhi Hovsepyan in their turn made stand up reports.
 
And finally, the scientific reports were summarized with a round-table discussion. After the solemn closing ceremony the participants visited sights of Armenian.
