Students Get Acquainted with Defensive Structures

At the initiative of Hakob Grigoryan, Acting Head of the Chair of First Aid, Emergency Situations and Civil Protection, and Perch Karapetyan, a lecturer of the aforesaid Chair, the

 University students regularly visit corresponding institutions in order to strengthen the theory-practice nexus.
 
Within the framework of the subject “Key Issues of Emergency Situations and Civil Protection,” the fourth-year students of the Faculty of Mathematics, Physics and Informatics today visited Yerevan Physics Institute after Artem Alikhanian. 
 
This defensive structure that covers an area of 400 square meters and has 70 shelters is used during air attacks and man-made disasters.
 
Accompanied by General Rouben Harutyunyan, Head of the Civil Protection Headquarters, the students toured the structure, familiarizing with the system of ventilation, nutrition, rest rooms, input and output conditions and power supply apparatus - diesel generator. 
 
 “While the visits strengthen the practical skills of students, they also offer an opportunity to the Institute staff to be always in good form,” said Perch Karapetyan.  
 
After touring the building, the students confessed that the subject greatly promotes their awareness and knowledge and practical lessons help them orient quickly and correctly.
