Once Again Symphonic Music Sounds at the Pedagogical
17.10.2012
“The Pedagogical students perceive and expect for the symphonic music played by our orchestra,” this is how the Conductor of the State Youth Symphonic Orchestra Sergey

Smbatyan expressed his point of view after today’s concert.

Still a year ago, the orchestra arranged a fixed programme: in order to make classical music more accessible for students, they presented concert programmes at universities of Armenia.

Referring to that initiative, Sergey Smbatyan notices that it is very important for everybody to listen to symphonic music, especially for students of Art schools; it has always been a pleasure to perform for the audience who perceives and is fond of classical music.
Likewise, within the framework of the same programme, the Youth Orchestra had concerts in country’s eight universities, including the Pedagogical University.

This time, there was another occasion to welcome the orchestra at the Pedagogical, they arranged a concert to congratulate the University on its 90th anniversary, thus, fulfilling the request of all the students, who expressed desire to once again be present at the concert.

“Due to the warm welcome of the audience I got assured that they considerably praise classical music realizing its high and significant role. After performances at universities it was clear that the main audience at our concerts were the students of the universities in question,” Sergey Smbatyan mentioned.

More to the point, well-known American, European and Armenian pieces, such as “Little Vienna March” by Fritz Kreisle, Chrysanthemums by Giacomo Puccini, Picikato Polka by Johan Straus, “Shoushanik” by Edward Mirzoyan lyrical works were all performed at the concert.

In addition, a pleasant surprise was also prepared for the audience; the orchestra performed the soundtracks from renown films “Mission”, “Romeo and Juliette”, “Schindler’s List”, “Once Upon a Time in America”, “Breakfast at Tiffany’s”, “Scent of a Woman”, and “The Godfather”.

For proper presentation of quality music, the audience made a farewell to the orchestra with a storm of applause and anticipation to meet again in future.
