29.10.2012
Hakob Tadevosyan, Deputy Dean of the Faculty of Education Psychology and Sociology, Candidate of Pedagogical Sciences, Associate Professor, Khachik Stepanyan, Associate

Professor of the Chair of Armenian History, Candidate of Historical Science, and Vahe Torosyan, Lecturer of the same chair, Candidate of Historical Science, gave lectures in the military units of Sisian, a city in Armenia’s southern Syunik Marz (province), within the framework of the "Pages of History and Culture" program initiated by the Public Council at the RA Ministry of Defense.

The University lecturers referred to the ties between the army and society, the high mission of servicemen, Armenian Fedayee campaigns at the end of the 19th century and at the beginning of the 20th century, the Armenian Kingdom of Cilicia. All these topics aroused great interest among the soldiers.

"Similar meetings and lectures help soldiers properly understand the history of the Armenian people and the insoluble link between the past, present and future. They also help clearly visualize our state and national interests in the current political situation and understand the role and importance of the army, enhancing the strengthening of the army’s fighting capacity,” said military psychologist Hakob Tadevosyan.

He believes that the meetings will familiarize soldiers with the high values of Armenian culture and strengthen their national pride and love for the Homeland. Regular meetings with intellectuals will also help soldiers perceive the high and responsible status of ‘Defenders of the Homeland,’ giving them moral and psychological energy and spiritual breath.
