Students Conduct Practical Training at Zvartnots Airport
31.10.2012
Guided by the motto “He who is informed, is protected,” Perch Karapetyan, lecturer of the Chair of First Aid, Emergency and Civil Protection, organizes regular practical workshops

to strengthen the theoretical knowledge of students.

This time, four-year students of the University visited Zvartnots Airport in Yerevan to see takeoffs and emergency landings.

Accompanied by the airport staff and wearing protective clothing, the students watched how passengers were evacuated and displaced during aircraft accidents. They also followed fire-suppression activities.

Future logopaedist Karin Eghyan said she was fascinated by the preparedness of the airport staff and technical saturation of the fire-engines.

Her coursemate Laura Hasratyan highlighted the need for quick and literate orientation in emergency. “The subject reinforces our knowledge and helps us feel protected in similar situations,” she said.

Speaking about the upcoming practical trainings, Perch Karapetyan said he was going to conduct a training lesson in the nearest metro station and in the high-rise building of the Pedagogical University to further increase students’ awareness of evacuation procedures.
