The Chancellor of the Oulu University Visits the Pedagogical

The Pedagogical University continues receiving high-rank guests on the occasion of its 90th anniversary. 
 

This time the Pedagogical welcomed the prominent scientist in Europe, public figure, Doctor of Chemical Sciences, Professor, the Chancellor of the University of Oulu in Finland Lauri Lajunen and the Vice Chancellor of Academic Affaires Eva-Maria Raudasoja.
 
The Chancellor of the Pedagogical University, Doctor of Pedagogical Sciences, Professor Rouben Mirzakhanyan greeted the guests and introduced Lauri Lajunen mentioning that currently he is in heading Europe’s biggest University of Oulu which is considered as the largest scientific and medical institution equipped with ultra-modern technologies. 
 

“It’s been a year and a half that our Universities have been involved in serious and consistent reforms within the framework of the second loan project “Education Quality and Conformity”; within this context our educational programmes and normative documents undergo changes and amendments.
 
 
And I am assured that our collaboration will still continue after the end of the project and the corresponding outcomes will become new guidelines.”
 
Afterwards, Rouben Mirzakhanyan conferred on the Chancellor of the University of Oulu the Honorary Doctor’s title, and

 then granted the Chancellor Lauri Lajunen and the Vice Chancellor of Academic Affairs Eva-Maria Raudasoja with the medals symbolizing the University’s 90th anniversary.
 
In his turn the Chancellor of the Oulu University of Finland expressed his gratitude for such a great honour and referred the awards he received to the whole team of the University of Oulu.
 
“I wish that our cooperation becomes of continuous and ongoing nature; moreover, I will be glad to welcome your students and lecturers at our University within the scope of exchange programmes. During my three-day visit I had a chance to see and to get familiar with the Armenian nation. I strongly admire the great love that Armenians have for their cultural values and historic monuments,” Lauri Lajunen mentioned. 
 
Later on, the guests were greeted by the concert presented by the choir of the Faculty of Art Education, the violin ensemble and the brass orchestra of the Pedagogical.   
 
We would also like to mention that during their visit the Finnish delegation also went to the Ejmiatsin, had a meeting with His Holiness Karekin II and received his blessing; afterwards the guest had a tour at the Yerevan Brandy Factory, where they were introduced with the secrets of making Armenian brandy and of course, tried the world-famous Armenian brandy.
 
Let us also remind that the cooperation between the University of Oulu in Finland and the Pedagogical University initiated in August 2011.
 
The aim of this cooperation is to improve higher pedagogical education in Armenia under the leadership of the Armenian State Pedagogical University after Khachatur Abovyan.
