Students of Armenian State Pedagogical University (ASPU) Lusine Piroyan, Nersik Margaryan, David Alexanyan, Hripsime Mkrtchyan and Lusine Arakelyan are already known for

their public activity. These students will henceforth represent the ASPU at the Youth Parliament.
The Youth Parliament is comprised of 131 members: 39 of them have been nominated by parliament factions, 50 - by higher educational institutions of the republic and 42 are self-nominees.
On November 6, Speaker of the Armenian National Assembly (Parliament) Hovik Abrahamyan handed over certificates to the young parliamentarians in a solemn ceremony.
Before proceeding with the agenda of the first session, the young people were sworn in as members of the Youth Parliament in accordance with the NA Rules of Procedure.

Then they passed to the discussion of the two items included in the session agenda - "Election of the Accounting Committee of the Youth Parliament adjunct to the RA NA Standing Committee on Science, Education, Culture, Youth and Sport" and "The Order of Formation and Activity of the Youth Parliament adjunct to the NA Standing Committee on Science, Education, Culture, Youth and Sport".
The Youth Parliament was formed in 2004. It was established under the NA Standing Committee on Science, Education, Culture, Youth and Sport to promote youth participation in legislative processes, discuss draft laws and proposals concerning the youth and submit an opinion on them to the Committee, ensure the active participation of the youth in the discussions and prepare young leaders.
Based on their interests and specialties, members of the Youth Parliament are included in different NA committees.
Each members of the Youth Parliament has his powers and liabilities and if he fails to properly perform them, he shall be 'stripped of his mandate' and replaced by another representative.
