Presentation of the 6th edition of "Cultural News" published on the initiative of the Chair of Art History, Theory and Cultural Studies was held at Armenian State Pedagogical University (ASPU) on December 1.
The collection includes 12 articles by students which present the results of research focusing on problems in national culture, their possible solutions and elimination.
Ara Hakobyan, Dean of the Faculty of Art Education, and Suzanna Grigoryan, Acting Head of the Chair of Art History, Theory and Cultural Studies, congratulated the future culturalists and art theoreticians on the occasion of the important event.
Satenik Melikyan, Associate Professor of the Chair of Art History, Theory and Cultural Studies, Candidate of Art Studies, said compared to the previous collections (published in 2017-2022), the new collection offers a variety of topics, a quantitative increase of critical materials and covers topics that worry Armenian people. “The selection of topics, the skills to highlight them and tell the difference between the primary and secondary, prove once again that the graduates of the educational institution named after the Great Enlightener [Khachatur Abovyan], particularly future culture and art specialists, who make up the cream of the intelligentsia, are steadfast and unwavering in their beliefs and will take over the difficult but honorable mission of preserving national values with honour,” she said.
Satenik Melikyan believes that the study of Armenian culture and art is becoming more purposeful, multifaceted and is gradually delineating the worthy shift of modern art critics.
