KHACHATUR ABOVYAN ARMENIAN STATE PEDAGOGICAL UNIVERSITY

Today, the Pedagogical University welcomed the Rector of the Moscow State Pedagogical University, academic Alexey Semyenov, the Vice-Rector, the Head of the Department of Mathematical Analysis Pavel Gevorgyan, and the Head of the Department of Information Technologies of the Pedagogical Institute, Doctor of Pedagogy Yelena Bulin-Sokolova.

Accompanied by the ASPU Rector Rouben Mirzakhanyan, the guest made a tour around the University, visited the ASPU museum, got familiar with the history and chronology thereof, after which wrote down their impressions in the memoir.

During the official meeting after the tour around the University, with the participation of the University’s Vice-Rectors, the Assistant to the Rector, the Head of the Department of Mathematics and Elementary Education, the parties introduced the University’s activities, its achievements in educational and scientific spheres, together with changes and innovations.

On this occasion, Rouben Mirzakhanyan spoke about the University’s new research laboratory of Mathematical Education emphasizing that in future it would acquire the status of an institute, after which he mentioned the “Summer School” international students’ exchange programme considering it as an important achievement noticing that in addition to being interesting, cognitive, it also had educational meaning, as a result of which the students received three credits.

In addition, the rector spoke about other laboratories open at the University, the programme “Chess at Schools”, as well as about adding the internship hours, highlighted further cooperation between the two Universities and signing of a memorandum in future, expressing the hope that collaboration would refer both to students and to lecturers.

In his turn the Rector of the Moscow State Pedagogical University Alexey Semyenov introduced the institution he was managing, spoke about the University’s priority areas, spoke about the mathematical education at the University, highlighted cooperation in different areas and the students exchange programmes implemented between the Universities.

“Pedagogical education is the most universal; everybody should learn it; in fact, that conditions the priority of a pedagogue’s profession and the leading status of pedagogical universities in the course of time”, mentioned the Rector of the Moscow State Pedagogical Institute Alexey Semyenov.

The Vice-Rector Pavel Gevorgyan in his turn, suggested to recall the experience of the Soviet times and to arrange the education of students with excellent progress in Moscow.

Moreover, Yelena Bulin –Sokolova suggested that the Moscow State Pedagogical University should also be involved in the ASPU “Summer School” programme.
