New Model of Democracy- Introduced by the Politologist Hayk Suqiasyan

In the new academic year politology hearings organized by the initiative of the Faculty of History and Law, Chair of Politology and History of Right still continue.

The topic of this meeting referring to the urgent issues of politics was “Consociational Democracy as a Concept of Security or Doctrine for the Region and our Country”; on this occasion, Candidate of Political Sciences, Associate Professor Hayk Suqiasyan made a report on the topic.

The speaker referred to the new model of the group dealing with politology issues- the Consociational democracy, introduced its peculiarities and the objective sides thereof needed for our country.

According to the speaker, without ensuring the security of the state, it is impossible to have a development in the country.

“The generated model will ensure security in Transcaucasia suggesting development of democracy not only in multicomponent society, but also in our country implying hegemony of the society.”

Hayk Sukiassyan believes that the application of the model in the RA must first of all begin with increasing the role of conceptual parties.

Further on, the Head of the Chair of Politology, Professor Levon Shirinyan highlighted that one of the aims of politology hearings was to be guided by declining the state of lachrymose and surrendering to the objective flow of things. In addition, the Professor gave several controversial solutions on how to pull the country out of crisis adding his personal opinion thereabout.

“Unless political issues are solved, we will not be able to overcome the economic and psychological crisis in our country; this issue is much more than just political, while the responsible figures try to avoid it.”

Likewise, speaking about the forms of democracy in our state, Levon Shirinyan outlined that the current form of operation does not promise any positive outcomes; meanwhile the model of consociational democracy was the result of the one year work of the group and already demonstrated results in the region.

And last but not least, he added that the idea of the model should be first introduced at the University and afterwards in public, as each of them was obliged to overcome the psychological crisis, the state of mournfulness and corruption that was so typical to our nation; we need to have a flourishing and powerful country.

At the end of the event, a discussion was held during which the guests and the students asked their questions to the speaker.
