1974- till now Institute of General Inorganic Chemistry after M.G Manvelyan of NAS RA: senior engineer, junior researcher, senior researcher, leading researcher, laboratory head, director, deputy director.
2002-2006 State Engineering University of the Ministry of Education and Science of the Republic of Armenia, head of the chair of "Inorganic Silicate Materials, Electrochemical Production Technologies".
He has taught "Physical Chemistry of Silicate Materials", "Chemical Technology of Silicate-Non-Metallic Materials", "Factory Equipment-Design Basics", "Crystallography and Mineralogy ".
2006 - 2019 M.G. After Manvelyan Director of the Institute of General Inorganic Chemistry, professor, head of laboratory, chairman of the scientific council.

2020 present Professor of the Department of "Biology, Chemistry and their Teaching Methods" at the Armenian State Pedagogical University.

Field of scientific research
Chemistry and chemical technology of inorganic and silicate materials, the nature of chemical interactions in multicomponent oxide and oxyfluoride systems, structural features of two-phase glasses, the relationship of glass formation and state diagrams, theoretical and technological foundations for the production of glasses and glass-ceramic materials, technical glass (optical, semiconductor, electrical, glassy luminophores, etc.) and glass-ceramic materials.
There are 12 PhD theses defended under the guidance of Professor N.B. Knyazyan.
