On July 2, Rector of Armenian State Pedagogical University (ASPU) Srbuhi Gevorgyan handed over diplomas with honours to the graduates of the Bachelor’s and Master’s degree programs of the Faculty of Educational Psychology and Sociology, Faculty of Special Education and Inclusive Education.
This year, 306 students are graduating the Faculty of Educational Psychology and Sociology, and 131 – the Faculty of Special Education and Inclusive Education; 127 of them are graduating with honours.
In her congratulatory speech, the rector underlined the role of the faculties not only in the life of the University, but also in the life of our country: these professionals prepare and train specialists in the field of psychology and pedagogy, improve their qualities and, carry out the most important mission – use different mechanisms for interaction with human psyche.
Professor Gevorgyan added that these faculties train specialists whose focus of activity is the human being, individual, the restoration of his/her mental resources, provision of guidance and support.
Srbuhi Gevorgyan also spoke about the challenges of the profession and the graduates' newly-assumed mission. She advised the students to honour and proudly uphold the name of the University in their future activities.
The ASPU rector also recalled the renowned people of the aforesaid fields who have made great contributions and registered important developments. She also advised ASPU students to find new methods and approaches when working with the subject of childhood and added that those will be the best pages in the history of the University.
Gohar Hovyan, Dean of the Faculty of Special and Inclusive Education, also congratulated the students on their graduation. She wished them to stay united at the most important stage of life. She stressed that a generation that continued learning during the pandemic and war is graduating today. "May that unity contribute to the achievements you have had while receiving a quality education at ASPU. I wish you a dignified future and great achievements, which you will use for the good of our country for new victories," Gohar Hovyan said.
Ruzanna Petrosyan, Dean of the Faculty of Educational Psychology and Sociology, also congratulated the graduates on the occasion of the important stage in their lives and reminded them that they are taking on an even more important mission.
She advised them uphold the good name of the University they have graduated.
