Lecturers and MA students of the Faculty of Special Education of Armenian State Pedagogical University participated in an online international conference organized by Novosibirsk State Pedagogical University.

Cooperation between the two universities in question started about five years ago. In 2013, the sides signed an agreement on cooperation.
During the online conference entitled “Modern Trends in Psychological and Educational Support,” Candidate of Pedagogical Science, Associate

Professor Tereza Azatyan presented a report on the theme “Issues of Inclusive Education in the System of Higher Education.” In her speech, she focused on the achievements and failures of the sphere.

Citing the example of the Pedagogical University, the special pedagogue assured everyone that the University pays special attention to the creation of a complete learning environment for individuals with special educational needs. “As soon as you enter the University, you can see special yellow markings meant for visually impaired people, the ASPU Museum has audio guide technology and the library is equipped with audio set,” Tereza Azatyan said adding that the University is doing everything possible to create the necessary conditions for its students. In addition, favourable conditions will be provided for individuals with mobility impairments.

The pedagogue also highlighted interpersonal communication of students with special educational needs within student groups and expressed hope that cooperation between the higher education institutions will contribute to the improvement of the education process, personal and professional growth of students, as well as development of their social competence.

“Inclusion of individuals with special educational needs in the education process and practical activities will promote their full integration into society,” she stressed. 

The third party participating in the online international conference was Belarusian State Pedagogical University. 

The online communication enabled the MA students to hear the reports of foreign participants and start an active discussion on them.
