“OSCAR 2015” Awards

Today, the ASPU Base (High-School) College was in a New Year mood; in order to make the current year’s last days more festive and memorable, the 12th grade journalism pupils of the humanities flow organized the New Year’s “Oscar 2015” awards.

The initiative undertaken by the future journalists was unique for their junior class mates both from the organizational perspective and in its format; first time in the history of the college the most prestigious awards of the American film academy was moved to here for some hours.

The awards started with the nomination “The Most Active Class”; the 11th grade pupils of the humanities flow (press), (psychology -1), (psychology-2), cultural flow (painting), and physical-mathematical flow (economics) made video presentations referring to the work they had done during a year and a half, what events they had organized, including participation in a variety of competitions, the most important achievements and triumphs.

As a jury- the Head of the College and the teaching stuff noticed that the classes were overloaded this year, nevertheless, humanities flow (journalism) was announced as winner and received the “Oscar” award.

In the nomination “The Most Talented Class” the pupils presented musical and dance performances filled with the New Year spirit; during the competition the humanities (psychology-1) flow was the best one.

Not to forget about the New Year’s excitement, an especially lively “Live Christmas Tree” competition was organized. Bearing in mind the students’ creativity on the one hand and the hand-made work on the other, the jury simultaneously announced two winners- the cultural flow (painting) and the humanities flow (psychology -2).

Moreover, during the award winners in the nomination “The Most Intellectual Class” were also selected; the future journalists were absolute leaders of the blitz competition including diverse spheres.

In addition, the supervisors of classes were also not left out of the competition; in a few minutes’ competition they failed to choose the most delicious New Year dish and the one who prepared holiday decorations; as a result; all 5 participants received diplomas for their active participation in the award.

At the end of the Awards Ceremony physical- mathematical flow (economics) won in the nomination “Audience’s Sympathy”, and the cultural flow (painting) won in the nomination “Discovery of the Year”.

Similarly, the “Best Pupil” of the year was also announced; in fact, it was a surprise for Sargis Ghazaryan from the physical –mathematical flow (economics) to become the best pupil, but he was sure that his participation in 6-7 international projects had also been taken into account to a large extent . Bulgaria, Turkey, Poland, Stepanavan, Dilijan- these are the few countries and cities where Sargis participated in discussion and upraising of a number of educational, cultural, youth issues and priorities.

The young delegate assures that whatever he has learnt he passes to his friends, the Pupils Council and does all that is possible to make the young people’s voices audible.

In her turn, the supervisor of the 12th grade class of journalism of the humanities flow Mery Vengrzhanovich summarized the event and assured during her interview to the old.aspu.am that such initiatives gave healthy sense of competitiveness to pupils, motivation and what is the most important, it made pupils’ life more interesting.

To conclude, the President of the Pupil’s Council of the College Norayr Shoghikyan added that there was no lack of events therein which, in fact, cut out the daily educational routine before various examinations.
