From 9 to 13 October, a career development workshop for women in physics was held at the Abdus Salam International Centre for Theoretical Physics (ICTP) in Trieste, Italy.
Within the framework of the existing agreement between the ASPU and the ICTP, the lecturer of the Chair of Physics and its Teaching Methods, Candidate of Sciences in Physics and Mathematics Narinei Babajanyan and specialist of the same Chair, Physicist Nunei Mkhitaryan received invitations to participate at the workshop.
Likewise, representatives of the world’s renowned universities, laboratories, and higher technical schools from around 40 countries participated at the workshop.
During the workshop presentations, discussions, debates were organized as a result of which the participants gained new knowledge in physics and other fields, to be able to establish their career and to mark progress in science.
In their turn, Narinei Babajanyan and Nunei Mkhitaryan presented various material on posters about their activities at the Pedagogical University.
“Such workshops allow us to not only gain new knowledge and skills through discussions, but also to have an idea through exchange of experience about educational systems in different countries, their current issues, and solution methods,” the participants of the workshop mentioned in their interview to the old.aspu.am and highlighted that further on they were going to share the experience gained in the workshop with co-workers and students.
