From 30 July to 10 August, ten students and one lecturer of the Pedagogical University visited Lithuania within the scope of the “Summer School” international programme where they were welcomed by the representatives of the Lithuanian University of Educational Sciences.
During the opening ceremony the ASPU students were greeted by the academic staff of the University, the representatives of the Rector’s office, and received presents.
Within the scope of the project the participants got familiarized not only with the historical and cultural values of the country, but also its educational system and some Lithuanian language.
Trakai Island Castle, the old capital city Kernavė, Rumšiškės - The Lithuanian country life museum, and many other sites, monuments, castles, and museums of historical and cultural value, through which the representatives of the University after Kh.Abovyan got acquainted with the history of Lithuania, their national traditions, value system and lifestyle accompanied by the traditional Lithuanian dishes, folk songs and dances.
As stated by the students, thanks to the rich educational programme they were able to learn Lithuanian language to some extent, show active participation in exciting events and discussions organized by the Lithuanian University of Educational Sciences.
The programme that brought together students from 19 countries was summarized by the presentations on cultural values during which the Armenian students introduced the history of Armenian nation, national songs and dances, and some traditional dishes.
Students that visited Lithuania share the opinion that it was an exceptional opportunity provided by the University due to which they enjoyed impressing and memorable days, gained new friends, knowledge, and language skills.
