“Love or sports? Love is everywhere, even in sports” states the 2016 Summer Olympics Gold medal winner Artur Alexanyan, who is visiting the Pedagogical University today.
The ASPU students had a cordial, frank and sincere meeting with the World’s double and Europe’s triple champion; they had just the same excitement, like during the Olympics.
Finding out the ideal of a woman for the Champion, discovering his pledge of success- the sport loving students asked questions about everything, keeping the same spirit- we are proud that you are the hero of our nation.
Moreover, students’ excitement doubled when the first daring person tried to find out the origin of the nickname “White bear”, as well as had a chance to take a photo with the Armenian Greco-Roman wrestler.
Furthermore, during the meeting, Arthur Alexanyan spoke about his favourite sport, the great success he had in the great sports, the disappointments he faced and the victories he had.
“What people call the pick of sports has been my dream since childhood, an aspiration that existed in the process of doing sports throughout 16 continuous years. It’s hard to become an Olympic champion; if compared with other championships, the stress doubles up, psychological and physical fights get unified”, mentioned the sportsman, adding that there were times of disappointment, but he could always find the power to struggle, and people’s love, his family and particularly the trainer- his father.
The winner of the gold medal of the Summer Olympics, who thinks that the greatest victory in life, besides sports, is still sports, assured that he was going to continue training with the aspiration of having new victories in near future.
During the meeting the students made surprises to Artur Alexanyan the sweetest of which was treating the sportsman with favourite sweets.
To sum up, during the meeting organized by the Students Council, Vice-Rector of the University Armen Tamazyan awarded Artur Alexanyan with the “Pedagogical University” medal and noticed that the visit was a truly big event for the University, and the crowded hall served as a proof thereof.
