Today is the World Philosophy Day. On this occasion, the Pedagogical University Candidate of Philosophy Andranik Stepanyan presented his monograph headed “Doctrine of the God’s Demise”.
“Pedagogy and Psychology are fully based on philosophic methodology; Pedagogy- psychology-philosophy chain is the most important pyramid, which serves as precondition for our University’s achievements and implementation of its mission”, mentioned the ASPU Vice-Rector for Academic Affairs Srbouhi Gevorgyan and congratulated the lecturers of the Chair of Philosophy and Logic on behalf of the University management on their professional holiday.
Likewise, the Vice-Rector highly appreciated the six years of activities developed on the Chair and highlighted that Philosophy is substantive science, which preconditions its access into human nature.
The Head of the Chair of Philosophy and Logic after Academician Gevorg Brutyan Ms. Hasmik Hovhannisyan considers any sort of celebration of the professional holiday as one of the best traditions, which is also a good opportunity to present the annual report.
“21 articles, 15 of which in circulating magazines, 16 reports in international conferences, lectures of famous philosophers, involvement of the lecturers of our Chair in editing boards of scientific journals, a number of joint research programmes with foreign philosophers, etc.”, mentioned Ms. Hasmik Hovhannisyan, when introducing the Chair’s activities and added that it was another good occasion to act as a philosopher, to make evaluations from different perspectives, to contemplate about the oldest but always young science.
The editor of the book by the Candidate of Philosophy, Associate Professor Andranik Stepanyan “Doctrine of the God’s Demise” Mr. Davit Mosinyan mentioned in his speech that the given work was his first experience in the Armenian reality aimed at valuing the doctrine of the God’s demise formulated in radical thinking.
“Philosophy is science beyond time”, mentioned the editor and added that research, on which he worked so accurately as if on a piece of art, did not aspire to exhaust the endless topic, but on the contrary, opened new horizons to think about human - God relationship”.
What is more, the faculty on the Chair also congratulated on the professional holiday and presentation of the book.
“Philosophy is wisdom; the warden of nations and countries, patriotism and wisdom. Philosophy is eternal, it has been holding its role and will be holding at all times”, stated Professor Robert Jijyan and urged to preserve those values.
By quoting the great philosopher René Descartes that nations were civilized insofar as they were good philosophers, Associate Professor Hovhannes Hovhannisyan added that there was no bigger value and prosperity for a state than having true philosophers.
Hovhannes Hovhannisyan has the opinion that it was hard to think of philosophy without giving national shades to it, and besides, the level of a nations’ literacy should also be determined by the ability to be a philosopher.
At the end of the event, the author of the monograph Andranik Stepanyan expressed his acknowledgements to those, who supported the publishing of the book and assured that it was the condensed result of many years of research, study of 350 different sources provided for philosophers, religious scientists, theologians, culturologists and generally wide scope of public.
“Crisis of religion and religious mind means that the role of religion has been shattered in public life, the once authorities have been repudiated, the power has been weakened for a contemporary person. While the Christian religion is one of the basis of Western civilization and culture, without which it is impossible to imagine that culture with its achievements, as well as losses”, mentioned Andranik Stepanyan and added that Christian ideology and doctrine had formulated in the consciousness of Western people the religious understanding of a human being, reality, the World and the God.
We would also like to mention that the monograph was dedicated to radical theologists of the 20th century, particularly the analysis and appreciation of the doctrine of “God’s Demise” by the eminent French thinker of Armenian origin, theologists Gabriel Vahanyan.
