Politological Hearings Continue

The regular Politological Hearings took place at the Pedagogical University.

On this occasion, Doctor of Politology, Professor Levon Shirinyan delivered a report about the “Relevance of National- Historical Role of the First Armenian Republic”, where he noted that it was not just a fact of historical past.

“The liberation fight of Artskah and the proclamation of the Third Republic of Armenia proved that Armenia, in political terms, found itself in coordinates that had been broken as a result of the Russian - Turkish aggression before. We shouldn’t lose our historical past, we need to continue on the basis thereof.”

Moreover, the speaker emphasized that the Artskah issue was followed by the liberation of territories, which resulted in birth of a new generation of independence. Mr. Levon Shirinyan is convinced that the four-day war of April turned the national –liberation fight into the fight to preserve independence and autonomy that was based on the First Republic.

“The launching the path towards the European Union was also undertaken by this generation; it was proved that our country also had a European vector.”
According to the Politologist’s observations a country needs to pass through certain stages of modernisation, and, in fact, it should be clearly understood that Armenia has no true allies. The country should develop only by means of its own resources and the Diaspora.

“All this is possible with the creation of a scientific and industrial complex, improvement of education and development of the cultural Armenia. This is a historical lesson deriving from the experience of the First Republic, while the geopolitical realities of today oblige us to face future challenges based only on our own forces”, added Levon Shirninyan during the meeting with future politologists.
