The presentation of a work by Arusyak Kostanyan, a lecturer of the Chair of Music Education took place on October 21.
The presentation of the work "Piano Arrangements of Armenian Composers’ Songs: Methodological Guidelines" was accompanied by a unique concert; the audience enjoyed the works of Charles Aznavour, Georges Diran Garvarentz, Aleksey Hekimyan, Aram Satyan, Aram Avagyan, Artur Grigoryan, Edgar Hovhannisyan and many others. Also, Arusyak Kostanyan, Vazgen Minasyan, Lili Khachatryan, Armine Ojakhyan, Tigran Alaverdyan, Marianna Avetisyan and others performed vocal and instrumental performances of well-known and popular works.
"Piano Arrangements of Armenian Composers’ Songs: Methodological Guidelines" includes transpositions of well-known and favourite songs by Armenian composers and songwriters, which are presented as tunes and melodies. The transpositions are intended for higher music education institutions, colleges, music schools, as well as pianists and music-loving public. Some of them have levels - difficult, medium and easy.
Arusyak Kostanyan says she has created the work spontaneously and as a result of emotions accumulated over time.
"I have chosen favourite works. The way the transpositions and methodical instructions are presented will help overcome the difficulties that are encountered while performing various works," Arusyak Kostanyan said and added that the work is aimed at developing taste and professional-aesthetic of music performers.
The presentation was also attended by Aram Satyan, President of the Union of Composers, who hailed both the publication of the work and the format (concert) of its presentation. "It is very pleasant to listen to songs that used to be popular and recognized. Transpositions revive our life in a unique way," said Aram Satyan.
