“Publication of each and every book is like childbirth: first, it is created and then it comes to life. This book differs from many others as it presents the history and path of Armenia, starting from Mesrop Mashtots to the 21st century, from Ayb, which means wafer, to present-day memories, which are a testament and prayer, with every poetic line spreading light and warmth,” Dean of the Faculty of Philology, Associate Professor Ashot

Galstyan said during the presentation of “Armenia, My Love” - a book by Tigran Petrosyants. The event was held at the ASPU Academic Library.
Mr. Galstyan stressed that each meeting with the writer is full of perseverance, determination to never give up and faith in tomorrow. “All poems in the collection “Armenia, My Love” smell ‘Armenian,’ proving once again that we are all border pillars standing along the border of our Homeland,” he said.

During the presentation dated to the 25th Anniversary of Independence of the Republic of Armenia, Professor Ayelita Dolukhanyan, Head of the Chair of Ancient and Medieval Armenian Literature, Doctor of Philology, a corresponding member of the National Academy of Sciences, said the theme of patriotism continues to remain at the core of Armenian Literature.

The collection written by Tigran Petrosyants, who is best known under his pen name Tigran Hayazn (Tigran Yervandyan), is modern, instructive, exciting and contagious. The book teaches a patriotic, true and useful lesson especially to the newly rising generation. “The author is a true devotee of his Homeland, an annalist who is aware of his nation’s history and destiny. The book clearly explains the importance of family upbringing: love for Homeland should be instilled in a child starting from the cradle and breastfeeding. As Martiros Sargsyan presents Armenia in a palette of Impressionism, so does Tigran Petrosyants for whom Armenia is a bride dressed in white: greenish Armenia is a love-giving woman, while golden Armenia is a tender and loving grandmother. As a human being misses his beloved person, so does the poet who has a timeless longing for Armenia,” she said.

“As soon as you start reading the first pages of the book, you immediately feel that the poems were written by a patriotic person dedicated to his Homeland,” said Edgar Apresyan, a MA student of the Faculty of Philology.

He added that the book provides a lot of information about Armenia, which can develop in every Armenian the sense of appreciation of his Homeland and recognition of the true treasures of the country. They lead the reader along the path of patriotism.
Lecturers of the University also congratulated Tigran Petrosyants on the occasion, while the students of the Faculty of Philology recited the writer's poems and sang a song written by Mr. Petrosyants.

A surprise was awaiting Tigran Petrosyants during the event. Lieutenant-general Arsen Fidanyan bestowed a “Tigran Mets” medal on his comrade in

arms on behalf of the International Security Academy of Aspetats (Knights).
Tigran Petrosyants, the author of “Armenia, My Love” collection, was the last to make a speech during the event. He confessed that he had organized and attended many presentations but it was the first time he was participating in the presentation of his own book.

The director of the ASPU Academic Library confessed that if he were fortunate enough to come to life again, he would like to be Armenian born into the same family, with the same parents. "Hovhannes Shiraz, Paruyr Sevak, Catholicos Vazgen I… These are people who with their patriotism and humanism, I mean in the content, not in the form, became my teachers and taught me patriotism. Try to see your Homeland inside you, collect the necessary knowledge today: this is your time, the time for future. We should do everything possible to make Armenia eternal, inherit it to our future generations and expand our borders to the Mediterranean Sea.”

The presentation of the book “Armenia, My Love” was attended by lecturers, students and book lovers.
