KHACHATUR ABOVYAN ARMENIAN STATE PEDAGOGICAL UNIVERSITY

A few days ago an event dedicated to the Western Armenian poetry was organized at the Armenian-Russian (Slavonic) University; the students of the ASPU Faculty of Philology also participated therein.

In his opening speech the Head of Chair of the Slavonic University, Professor Azat Yeghiazaryan highlighted the role of the Chair of Armenian New and Modern Literature and its Teaching Methods of the Pedagogical University in evaluating and preserving the importance of Western Armenian literature.

The students recited poems from Misack Metsarents, Daniel Varuzhan, Rouben Sevak, Levon Shant, Sipili, Vahan Teckeyan, trying to the extent possible to correctly represent the phonetic system of Western Armenian, to disclose the whole charm of the language and the poetic system.
This initiative is not the first cooperation experience between the Universities; it will be continuous.
