Vasily Kozlov, Head of the Chair of Psychology at Yaroslavl State University of the Russian Federation, and President of the International Academy of Psychological Sciences, visited ASPU on May 11.
The International Academy of Psychological Sciences and the Chair of Psychology of Armenian State Pedagogical University have been cooperating for a long time now.
Mr. Kozlov visited ASPU to summarize the results of cooperation, identify new avenues for collaboration and discuss the possibilities of their implementation.
On behalf of the Academy leadership, the guest granted the status of “Full-member of the Academy” to ASPU Rector Srbuhi Gevorgyan, Certificate of "Corresponding Member of the Academy" to ASPU Vice-Rector for Educational and Academic Affairs Mariam Ispiryan and Dean of the Faculty of Educational Psychology and Sociology Ruzanna Petrosyan, and the highest honour of the Academy to Professor Vladimir Karapetyan for his contributions to the field of psychology.
ASPU Rector, Professor Srbuhi Gevorgyan thanked Mr. Kozlov for the visit and or effective cooperation, and expressed hope that henceforth meetings will become more frequent considering general directions and interests of the two institutions in question. Professor Gevorgyan is sure that lecturers of the Chair of Psychology will focus on and successfully introduce the priority directions of the Academy in their professional activity, thereby strengthening cooperation between the University and the Academy.
By the decision of the Academic Board of the University, ASPU rector awarded the President of the International Academy of Psychological Sciences a "Pedagogical University" medal, once again expressing confidence that the meeting will give a new impetus to further cooperation.
Vasily Kozlov,in turn, thanked for the warm welcome, and presented the new and main directions of the 30-year-old Academy.
During the meeting, the Armenian-Russian partners also emphasized the need for joint publications and organization of thesis defenses, as well as involvement of Academy and University representatives in scientific databases of the two institutions under question.
