Loretta S. Aghasaryan, Head of the Chair of Music Education, Faculty of Art Education, ASPU, Candidate of Arts and Professor, has died at the age of 71.
Loretta Aghasaryan was born in 1946. In 1958, she entered Tchaikovsky Special Music School adjunct to Yerevan State Conservatory. In 1964, she was admitted to the Department of Music Theory of Yerevan State Conservatory, later the Piano Department of the same educational institution.
In 1970, Loretta Aghasaryan she attended postgraduate courses at the Moscow Institute of Art History. She had been working at Armenian State Pedagogical University after Khachatur Abovyan since 1974, giving music theory lessons.
She headed the Chair of Theory and Methods of Music since 1987. Later, she headed the Chair of Music Education.
Throughout her academic career, the professor devoted herself to the ASPU, educated and taught dozens of generations of music pedagogues.
Loretta Aghasaryan wrote more than 20 articles, manuals and monographs.
The memory of the distinguished educator will remain bright in the hearts of her students and colleagues.
