“This is not the summary of the past years, but the beginning of the next 80 years”, this is what the Professor of the Pedagogical University, Doctor of Economy Maxim Sargsyan mentioned about his own anniversary; the University organized a matinee to celebrate his 80th jubilee and 55 years of scientific and pedagogical professional life.
All those present including the teaching professorial team, previous and current friends, relatives presented the Professor’s glorious path and activities.
The Rector of the ASPU Rouben Mirzakhanyan congratulated Maxim Sargsyan in the name of the Rector’s office of the University awarding him with the “Pedagogical University” medal.
“There, where you were, are and will be, people were kinder, understanding, and non-conflicting because that’s the way you also are; this is an exceptional human ability which few people are endowed with”, mentioned the Rector and wished the Professor all the best, good health and success.
The President of the NAS Radik Martirosyan has been friends with Maxim Sargsyan since childhood. He recollected the years they had spent together sharing his memories with those present in the core of which was the jubilee’s hospitality, dedication and strictness towards the work, profession and the surrounding.
“I am thankful to you for the years we spent together”, mentioned the academician and wished the Professor all the best.
Furthermore, the jubilee was congratulated by his colleagues including the NAS Associate Member, Doctor of Economy, Professor Grigor Gharibyan, the Head of the Chair of Theory and History of Pedagogy, Doctor of Pedagogy, Professor Laura Asatryan, Head of Chair of Politology and History of Law, Doctor of Politology, Professor Levon Shirinyan.
Vigorous, industrious and humanist; this is how Levon Shirinyan described the Professor highlighting that Maxim Sargsyan had done a great work to develop science at the Pedagogical University.
Reading out the congratulatory note from the Chair of Theory and History of Pedagogy, the Head of the Chair Laura Asatryan, in her turn, added, “Your image of an intellectual figure has been in our mind throughout many years; the generation, which was and is now working with you and walking the road to perfection, is happy.
Next, the Head of the Chair of Economics and Management Karlen Khachatryan more thoroughly presented road that the Professor, distinguished pedagogue had passed and spoke about his greatest contribution in the development of Armenian economics.
“A large group of young and mid aged specialists with higher qualification is the result of the approximately 55 years of pedagogical activities, which shows its active participation in a diversity of sectors in the field of education, science, management and economy. We are hopeful that you will be permanently accompanying us with your experience and wisdom”, mentioned Karlen Khachatryan and congratulated on the anniversary in the name of the whole staff of the already native Chair for the Professor wishing him good health and a long life.
What is more, we would like to mention that Maxim Sargsyan has been the Chairman of the State Examinations Committee in a number of other universities. In different years, he has been the member of Specialised Boards of the NAS Institute of Economy and Pedagogical Institute after Khachatur Abovyan; besides, a number of PhD students defended candidate theses under his supervision; he was also numerously involved as an opponent of candidate and doctorial theses numerously.
From the perspective of training highly qualified staff, the sixteen years of expertise activities by the Prof. M. Sargsyan at the RA SCC have, particularly, been fruitful.
And last but not least, Maxim Sargsyan is also a vigorous public figure and a member of the RA Veterans Association and its Policy Making Board. He was awarded with 7 medals, 4 of which are military and received a lot of diplomas.
To sum up, throughout 55 years of professional activities of a notable scientist he not only educated and brought up generations, and developed scientific and pedagogical activities, but also had an invaluable contribution in the establishment of a newly independent country acting as a conceptual public figure.
