The first literary awards ceremony was organised by the initiative of the “Hayk Naggashyan Literary Appraisal” Fund and the ASPU “Spyurq” Scientific-Educational Centre.
Among those present at the event of finalising the results of international competition were the writer’s family members, fellow writers, literary critics, students, and reading society.
Professor Souren Danielyan greeted the guests and the participants of the awards ceremony, and by sharing with a few memories and facts about the writer, public speaker Hayk Nazgashyan, he assured that with this award his name would become perpetual in the literary valley.
Parallel to summarising the awards, the writer’s life, his creative path as well as fragments of his works showing his linguistic and literary talent were shown.
The Vice-President of the Writers Union, Literary Critic Petros Demirtchyan highlighted the importance of organising the awards ceremony particularly from the perspective of young writers which will boost up their growth and open new achievements for them. In his opinion, awards are generally very important for writers and creators, and various awards ceremony organised in the Diaspora and at homeland have a big role therein.
In is turn, Hayk Naggashyan’s son Shahen Naggashyan expressed acknowledgements to the applicants of the competition and hoped for their number to be growing year by year. Likewise, the latter added that with such an initiative the fund aimed at encouraging and showing appreciation to contemporary writers.
The Naggshyan family wished the participants fruitful work and success, and assured that for any writer the appreciation of the reading society is the greatest award in the world.
With finalising the results of the awards ceremony, the prize from the “Hayk Naggashyan Literary Appraisal” Fund went to writer Ani Amseyan for her book “The Road to Silence”. Ani Amseyan expressed acknowledgements for the award considering it the highest appreciation to receive the prize from the Fund after the famous writer and public figure.
