Republican student conference held at ASPU

On April 29, the Faculty of Primary Education organized a republican student conference which focused on a number of issues, including alternative approaches to and research in primary education, the use of modern technology in the field of education, innovative approaches, etc.

During the conference entitled “Current Issues in Primary Education” the students referred to the use of GeoGebra application in elementary schools, development peculiarities of children with special educational needs (SEN). They also compared the social skills between pre-school institutions in Oulu and Yerevan.

Later on they discussed the ability of fluent and expressive reading, subject coordination during the native-language classes, chances of overcoming reading difficulties of children with SEN. With regard to the use of modern technology in the field of primary education, the students presented the results of the ICT (information and communications technology) application in elementary schools.

Srbuhi Gevorgyan, ASPU Vice-Rector for Scientific and Educational Affairs, stressed the importance of the conference and wished the participants effective and interesting discussions, dialogues and debates. The vice-rector expressed hope that the conference will give an opportunity to clearly outline professional approaches and turn them into scientific works in the future.

Lusine Poghosyan, Vice-Dean of the Faculty of Primary Education, says that interest in the conference is increasing year by year.

“It’s especially important that the students worked on the issues of the conference for a long time. They focused on many of them during their internship,” she added.
