France, China, Hungary, Belarus, Lithuania, Moscow, Saint-Petersburg- these are the countries that will be hosting the students of the Pedagogical University; similarly, students from the abovementioned countries will be making reciprocal visits to the ASPU educational base in Aghavnadzor.
Around 371 students applied for participation in the project that was being organised for already 7 years. As a result of the competition, 78 lucky winners were selected to participate in the programme, who later on found out their hosting countries through drawings.
During the competition, it was not the knowledge of foreign languages that was taken into account, but the skill and ability of presenting their native country, as the key objective of the programme is intercultural communication.
As a matter of fact, the organisers of the “Summer School 2018” in Aghavandzor assure that certain amendments have been made to the programme to include national culture and history, as well as various success stories and initiative that occurred in Armenia in the recent years.
Among the participants of the drawings were the ASPU students, who participated in the programme at the Aghavandzor educational base last year, and who are not yet graduating this year; these students will participate in the international programme outside Armenia.
Within the framework of the project ten students will travel to Lithuanian University of Educational Sciences, ten students will go to the University of Oulu in Finland, three students will visit the South-western University in China, five students will go to the Pázmány Péter Catholic University in Hungary, and twelve students will travel to Belarus to the Maxim Tank Belarusian State Pedagogical University.
In addition, ten students will go to the Pushkin State Russian Language Institute in Saint-Petersburg, another ten will visit the Moscow State Psychological-Pedagogical University, and the last ten will visit the Moscow State Pedagogical University; last but not least, twenty students will go to the Aghavnadzor base.
The Vice-Rector for Personnel Matters and International Cooperation Ara Yeremyan congratulated the winners of the competitions assuring them that in line with expanding the borders of cooperation, the participants’ quality was also improved.
“Communication with various students will contribute to elimination of linguistic barriers, strengthening cultural links between different countries, which is also very important from the perspective of internalisation of the Pedagogical University.
