Scientific conference devoted to Hovhannes Tumanyan

A few days ago, the Chair of Armenian New and Modern Literature and its Teaching Methods after Vache Partizuni at the Armenian State Pedagogical University (ASPU) hosted a student scientific conference, which was dedicated to the 100th death anniversary of Hovhannes Tumanyan and held with the participation of students of the Faculty of Philology.

Under the direction of Acting Head of the Chair, Professor Suren Danielyan, Associate Professors Knarik Abrahamyan, Lusine Galstyan, Naira Khachatryan, Armenuhi Muradyan and Naira Toghanyan and lecturer Anna Sargsyan, the students touched upon Tumanyan as the leader in Armenian poetry, the connections between Tumanyan and writer Shant, writer Oshakan’s appreciation of Tumanyan, Tumanyan the translator and the collections of the poet’s works.

The main questions concerned the artistic heritage of the Poet of All Armenians, certain layers of his life and community service, the appreciation expressed to Tumanyan, his prose, children’s books and more.

In their speeches, Professor Suren Danielyan and other lecturers and professors touched upon the need to continue to discover and assimilate Tumanyan and the importance of such scientific conferences on the path to building academic discourse for students.
