Seventy-six students to participate in Summer School 2019

China, the Czech Republic, Hungary, Lithuania, Russia, and Belarus… These countries will host a group of ASPU students within the framework of Summer School 2019. Likewise, students from the above-mentioned countries will visit Armenia within the framework the International Summer School to be held for the 8th year in a row.

A total of 137 students had applied to participate in the programme but only 74 were chosen. The host countries were selected by drawing lots.

During the competition the main emphasis was laid on students’ knowledge of foreign languages (particularly that of Russian and English), as well as their skills to present their own country.

The organizers of the Summer School 2019 say the programme is updated every year. More attention is paid to events that will familiarize participants with the country’s culture and history as well as the programmes which were successfully implemented in Armenia in recent years.

Within the framework of the programme, five students will visit Pushkin State Institute of Russian Language (Russia), five - Southwest University (China) and Moscow State Pedagogical University,12 - Saint-Petersburg State University of Economics (Russia), 10 - Moscow State University of Psychology and Education and Belarusian State Pedagogical University named after Maxim Tank, 6 - Pázmány Péter Catholic University (Hungary). One student will travel to the Czech Republic and two to Lithuania. Another twenty will participate in the programme at ASPU educational base in Aghavnadzor.

Ara Yeremyan, ASPU Vice-Rector for Personnel and International Cooperation, congratulated the participants and assured everyone that communication with young people from different countries will contribute to elimination of language barrier and strengthen cultural ties between different countries. This plays a crucial role in ASPU’s internationalization process.

Marianna Harutyunyan, Head of the ASPU International Cooperation Unit, also congratulated the participants and said they we have unforgettable impressions both in our country and outside its boundaries.

Students from the ASPU partner universities will stay at the Aghavnadzor-based educational centre within the framework of the international exchange programme.
